Government Schemes

The Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) is a flagship scheme launched by the Government of India on April 8, 2015, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The primary objective of this scheme is to provide financial support to small and micro-enterprises, which are often referred to as the backbone of the Indian economy. The scheme aims to empower the unfunded and unbanked sections of society by providing them with access to institutional credit. PMMY is implemented through the Micro Units Development and Refinance Agency (MUDRA) Bank, which operates as a subsidiary of the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI).

Launched in 2015 by the Government of India, the Skill India Mission emerged as a transformative initiative aimed at addressing the critical gap between formal education and industry requirements. With a vision to create a “Skilled India,” the program sought to equip over 400 million individuals with vocational training by 2022, fostering employability and entrepreneurship. The mission’s core objectives included standardizing skill development frameworks, enhancing workforce productivity, and integrating skilling into the broader economic agenda. However, as digital transformation accelerated globally, the need for a tech-driven approach became evident, leading to the evolution of Skill India Digital.
